Elevation

Elevation is a 2D dogfighting game for the browser, set at dusk over deserts, jungles, snowy peaks and the sea. Fly solo against bots, or host a room and play with friends straight from the browser: matches run directly between players, with no game server and no account.

Three hangars

The host picks which hangar everyone flies from. Each has five planes, balanced against each other, and every plane has three primary weapons to choose from, plus Airframe and Engine upgrades.

• Home Field — Roadrunner, Kestrel, Mirage, Condor and Scarab. Homing darts, sunbeams, blinks, carpet bombs and steered rockets.
• Storm Front — Stormcaller, Firefly, Hawkeye, Flywheel and Gemini. Rain clouds that follow your enemies, arrows that lock on, a flywheel you wind up and let fly, a mirror twin that fires when you fire.
• The Bazaar — Skywriter, Parrot, Keyhole, Beehive and Zeppelin. Burning ink trails, borrowed guns, doors you place in the sky, a swarm of bees and an airship.

Modes

• Free For All — most kills wins.
• Team Dogfight — two teams, one scoreboard.
• Sky Ball — carry, pass and shoot the ball into the other team's goal.
• Base Siege — carry the bomb to the enemy outpost.

Controls

Arrow keys or WASD to fly, Space or J to fire, Shift or K for your special, E or L to use a pickup (or shoot the ball). Gamepads work. On a phone, turn it sideways: drag on the left to steer, hold on the right to fire.

Playing with friends

Host a room and share the five-letter code or the invite link, or switch on "Open to anyone" so people browsing Find a match can join. Players on itch.io and on the web version can play together.
